A Message from your Adviser....

Taking over the staff in the
middle of the year was
tedious but was also very
rewarding. I enjoyed working
with the 2006 yearbook
staff. They have worked very
hard to capture the fond
memories that all of you
have made. It is my hope
that you will enjoy it!

What can we tell you about the 2006 edition of the Methuen
High School yearbook? Produced by a student staff and
faculty adviser, the printed yearbook covers life at Methuen
High School between September and mid-March. While the
book highlights seniors and their many accomplishments, it
also seeks to capture the memories of the underclassmen and
include as many students as possible from all class years. The
yearbook is unveiled at the Senior Breakfast and is distributed
to underclassmen prior to the end of the school year. The
accompanying CD-ROM Supplement covers all spring events,
including senior events and graduation. It is distributed in the
fall to all students who purchased a yearbook. Four Hundred
copies of the yearbook and CD-ROM Supplement were
produced by Jostens Printing and Publishing in
Winston-Salem, North Carolina. John "Bogie" Fletcher served
as Plant Consultant, while Kevin R. Dillon served as the local
Jostens Yearbook Specialist. The yearbook cover is a
full-color Tru-Life High Gloss Laminated Litho-Pictorial.
Cover artwork was designed in July 2005 by student staff
members and the Jostens' Creative Resources Team at the
annual Summer Workshop at Bryant University. The
CD-ROM label is designed to match the cover. The 140-page
yearbook was created completely online using Jostens'
"YearTech Online" creation tool. Adobe InDesign CS and
PhotoShop were used for certain special layouts and design
elements. The book is printed on 100# High Gloss stock.
There are 4 multiples (32 pages) printed in four-color process.
The CD-ROM Supplement was created using Jostens'
Memories Builder software. Portrait photography and most of
the candids, team photos and athletic action shots were
provided by LifeTouch Photography. Mr. Terry Bleiler served
as photography representative. Additional photography was
provided by students. Yearbooks were sold for $65 each,
including the CD-ROM Supplement. For an additional cost,
students also had the chance to personalize their books and
order a wide array of options. In the spring, late yearbook
orders were taken for $75 each. Mrs. Johnetta Hudson served
as Faculty Adviser, and Ms. Elaine Ventura served as
Immediate Past Adviser. The advisers and students wish to
thank all members of the MHS community who gave
countless hours to assist with the production of the 2006
Methuen High School Yearbook.

Hurricanes ravage the Gulf Coast region in the fall of 2005, posing an unprecedented test of
the United States federal emergency response efforts. Hundreds of lives are lost and thousands
are left homeless in the wake of Category 4 Hurricane Katrina, followed by Rita and Wilma.
The tragedy spurs contributions of money, talents, homes, food and more in an attempt to
raise spirits and rebuild the area.
